Alternative manufacturing method for LEV3 and PZEV capable plastic fuel tanks, abbreviated name: C3LS®
Market requirements drive the development of manufacturing methods for the production of CoEx-6 plastic fuel tanks. Kautex Maschinenbau GmbH has developed an optimized manufacturing method to serve as an alternative to the methods available in the market and has filed a corresponding patent application.
Similar to the known methods, fuel system components are relocated into the interior of the tank bladder.
The new method for manufacturing plastic fuel tanks, abbreviated C3LS®, comprises the following features:
| C3 | → | C-shaped extruded parison |
| → | C-functional parison transport gripper | |
| → | C for "Chamber mold" | |
| L | → | L for "Lid" (blow pin lid as chamber mold closure) |
| S | → | S for "System" (inserting and joining automation on the interior |
| side of the tank) |
In particular, this principle makes it possible to convert existing large blow molding machines to TriCLS® machines and to use the method on the converted equipment.
We shall be glad to discuss the benefits of this new method in a personal meeting.
