Industrial Blow Molding Machines for technical Parts and Containers of up to 10,000 Liters Capacity (KBS)

With its many years of experience in building industrial blow molding machines, Kautex Maschinenbau offers several machine series for the production of simple and complex containers with up to 10,000 liters capacity as well as for the production of technical parts such as plastic fuel tanks.

The clamping units of the KBS series blow molders share a common basic design and are installed in a closed, distortion-free, rigid frame.

Example of applications
The direct-acting hydraulic cylinder applies the clamping force centrally on the clamping platens, and the movement of the two clamping platens is precisely synchronized.

Large available spaces around the mold area for specialized mold functions and below the clamping platens for installation of optional parison manipulation equipment as may be needed for the production of industrial parts and large complex containers, are an integral part of the machine design. The KBS series machines are available as single and double clamp models.

Depending on the application, accumulator heads or continuous extrusion heads are used, the latter for coextrusion of up to six layers.

Examples of applications
In continuous extrusion mode, the parison is either inserted in the mold with a parison feeder or a shuttling clamping unit receives the parison from the die head.

Thanks to their modular design, most machines can be customized to the user's needs by matching clamping platen dimensions, closing speeds, clamping forces or clamp stroke with specific requirements.

Also, in terms of additional equipment and control options, Kautex Maschinenbau can accommodate virtually every customer requirement so that the optimum blow molding system is supplied for each project.

Industrial Blow Molding Machines for technical Parts and Containers of up to 10,000 Liters Capacity (KBSH)

With its many years of experience in building industrial blow molding machines, Kautex Maschinenbau offers several machine series for the production of both simple and complex containers with up to 10,000 liters capacity as well as for the production of technical parts such as plastic fuel tanks.

The KBSH type blow molders feature an energy-efficient hybrid-electric clamping system. High-speed clamp open and closing motion is achieved via servo drive while a hydraulic system takes over for the slow closing movement and rapid clamping force build-up. Two or four locking elements ensure a symmetric application of the clamping force across the platen.

Example of applications: collapsible and stackable insulation box
Large available spaces around the mold area for specialized mold functions and below the clamping platens for installation of optional parison manipulation equipment as may be needed for the production of industrial parts and large complex containers, are an integral part of the machine design.

All KBSH blow molders are available with single or multiple extrusion heads and are capable of operating in the following modes:
  • discontinuous extrusion with accumulator head
  • continuous extrusion and coextrusion

Both extrusion systems can be installed in conjunction with either stationary or shuttling clamp arrangements in single and double station machines.

Depending on the application, accumulator heads or continuous extrusion heads are used, the latter for coextrusion of up to seven layers. In continuous extrusion mode, the parison is either inserted in the mold with a parison feeder or a shuttling clamping unit receives the parison from the die head.

With suitable blow molds and the necessary equipment options, the KBSH series machines can also produce convoluted three-dimensional tubular shapes using either suction blow molding or robotic parison manipulation.
