IBC
Rethink IBCs – for Reliability, Strength, and Safety.
Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC)
They combine large volumes with space-saving stackability – ideal for chemicals, solvents, food additives, or bulk materials. Thanks to their cubical design, IBCs maximize transport and storage efficiency.
Most IBCs consist of a blow-molded inner bottle (typically 1000 liters), encased in a metal cage and mounted on a plastic or metal pallet. The inner container is produced from HDPE, using mono- or multilayer extrusion blow molding.
Kautex technology enables IBCs with just 14 kg net weight while meeting full UN, FDA, or EFSA certification standards. Combined with efficient downstream solutions and smart controls, our machines reach output rates of up to 45 units per hour.
Your Benefits with Kautex
Strength, Safety, and Efficiency – IBC Solutions that keep Your Products moving Securely Worldwide.
Up to 45 IBCs per hour on just ~119 m². Thanks to continuous extrusion and optimized downstream handling.
Whether mono, DeCo, or ReCo – up to 3 layers with PCR and masterbatch savings. Designed for high-performance multilayer production.
Reduced wall thickness (e.g. 1.3–1.6 mm), intelligent wall-thickness control (PWDS, SFDR), and rheology-optimized die designs.
14 kg net weight with full regulatory compliance (UN, FDA, EFSA). Supports right-weighting and circular material flows.
In-line deflashing, leak testing, cooling, palletizing – ready for autonomous production cells.
With BC6 and DataCap: condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, energy tracking, and wall-thickness analysis in real time.
Technology Focus
Die Heads
Our high-performance die heads for IBC production come in both continuous and discontinuous configurations:
- WT 1-600 ReCo3 (continuous): Up to 1200 kg/h throughput, 3-layer setup with a recyclate core, and advanced wall-thickness control via SFDR/PWDS. Ideal for high-end multilayer IBCs.
- AKK 60l mono (discontinuous): Designed for mono-layer IBCs, with outputs of up to 23 pcs/h and throughput ranging from 420–840 kg/h. A cost-effective alternative for less demanding requirements.
Kautex die heads are engineered using rheological simulation, overlapping heart curve geometry, and modular tooling – ensuring optimal melt flow, consistent thickness distribution, and reliable performance with recycled materials.
