Kautex Maschinenbau is celebrating 25 years of machine production in China

Kautex Maschinenbau has been operating a production plant for the manufacture of extrusion blow molding machines in the southern Chinese city of Shunde for 25 years.The presence of this plant means greater proximity to customers and quicker response times for machines, spare parts and service requirements in the Asian packaging market. The company invited customers and partners to an “open house” celebration in Shunde at the start of November to mark the anniversary. Manufacturingcapacity there was recently increased to enable even quicker deliveries. A new extended warehouse for spare parts was built in conjunction with the expansion.

Jorge Cuevas Martín appointed head of Global Service

As part of strategic reorganization, Kautex Maschinenbau has made a further appointment to an executive position: Since May 2020, Jorge Cuevas Martín is head of the company’s service provision as Global Service Manager. He will be responsible for the areas of After Sales and Parts Service. The 51-year-old Spaniard was originally an energy and air-conditioning technician and has worked for a range of international companies. Before joining Kautex, he was CEO of a Spanish subsidiary of a German heat exchanger company.

Kautex produces 320-liter hydrogen liner in blow molding process

Kautex Maschinenbau's blow molding experts have successfully produced a large- volume polyamide liner for hydrogen pressure vessels using extrusion blow molding. The liner is more than two meters long, with a diameter of approximately 500 mm and a volume of 320 liters. This is the first time that a liner for a hydrogen container has been produced in this size by blow molding.

Kautex Maschinenbau continues its strategic reorganization – Change process now finalized

The mechanical engineering company, based in Bonn, Germany, has announced additional investments to extend its Packaging, Pharmaceuticals, and Healthcare Packaging businesses for 2020. This will be achieved using funds worth double-digit millions of Euros, provided by the majority shareholder. The measures concerned will see the reallocation of human resources from the Automotive division to these other businesses. The reduction in staff levels announced in 2019 should be completed by the end of this year.

Kautex Maschinenbau is celebrating three anniversaries this year: its founding 85 years ago, 60 years since its USA subsidiary opened and 25 years of machine manufacturing in PRC. Reinhold Hagen, who was a plastics pioneer, founded the company in 1935. With his love of experimentation and business sense, he succeeded in developing the world's first standard production plant for seamlessly manufacturing hollow plastic products in 1949.

Thomas Hartkämper is the new CEO of Kautex Maschinenbau – Dr. Olaf Weiland joins the advisory board

Starting February 1, 2020, Thomas Hartkämper is the new CEO of Kautex Maschinenbau. He is taking over from Dr. Olaf Weiland, who has had significant influence on the development of the Bonn-based company since 2005. Going forward, Hartkämper is responsible for the areas of operations, research & development, and digitalization. Weiland, who is also a shareholder in Kautex Maschinenbau, is joining the advisory board, which is the controlling body of the company.
